It seems every hunting season a giant, monster of a buck falls at the hands of the most unlikely hunter. Yet again in 2012, that appears to be the case for a lucky 12 year old boy from Minnesota.
A patient 12-year-old boy has the story of a lifetime to tell following a weekend hunt last Saturday, November 3. Dylan Beach-Bittner of Motley, Minnesota took a nearly 30-point buck known around his community as the “monster buck” from a tree stand while out hunting with his step-father on his aunt’s farm roughly eight miles west of Sebeka.
Beach-Bittner saw the deer come into view about 100 yards away. He waited until the deer approached closer to the stand and turned broadside then he fired of his .270-caliber rifle and watched as the deer fell one time, got up to walk a few feet again and fell for a final time.
Beach-Bittner and his step-father came upon the animal, who was determined to be a 27-point atypical buck. ”I was surprised at how big he was,” Beach-Bittner told the Brainerd Dispatch in Minnesota. “It seems like it gets bigger every time I see it,” he said. The buck weighed 229 pounds and required the help of four people to load into a truck.
The deer will be green scored and taken to a taxidermist for a full shoulder mount. Beach-Bittner’s mother, Jeannie Beach, said the American Whitetail Association has already contacted the family about showing the mount.

i agree^^^^^....... the kid is 12 he would have been happy with a spike now he is never going to be happy cause he killed a buck of a life time when he was 12... it would ahve ment more to a guy that busts his butt and hunts hard for the deer. none the less still a great deer and im sure he still had a blast!

regardless of who the deer would have meant more too, now that kid is hooked for life, and even if he never tops it, i bet he is dedicated and spends every year trying to top it. And who wouldnt want to have a deer like that to rub in dad, and uncle, and whoever else's face you wanted to when you were 12? Great job, and just to get a monster like that close enough to shoot is accomplishing something, they didnt get that big being stupid.

I am a bowhunter, and one for life. I stopped gun hunting a few years back nad I love the thrill of bowhunting in general. I can't believe all the negative comments about this kid killing this great buck. Who cares if he can never top the kill. He is gonna be hooked on hunting for life. He will forever remember what the hunt was about. I would love to have killed that brut. Jealousy runs wild. I am glad for you young man. I don't care how ya killed him, as long as it was legal. I'm sure it was. I am not hinting at that. Hunt right, hunt smart, and congratulations on a fine buck. Keep hunting, ya never know, you just might top it someday. Ever think of bowhunting young man? lol He would prob. put us all to shame. Good job kiddo, keep on hunting!

^ I completely agree with Todd Browning. The kid is most likely hooked for life, and that is what it's all about, keeping our youth involved in the outdoors, and not on an xbox. Congrats on the deer of a lifetime, and good luck topping it! ;)
